Bay to Breakers 100 -- We're Serious

Six weeks to go until what ESPN (website) calls "one of the sporting events in the world you should see before you die" -- the 100th running of the Zazzle Bay to Breakers (www.zazzlebaytobreakers.com). Wow -- that's a lot to live up to!

This year, in addition to marking a century of serious fun, serious silliness, serious sports competition and serious history (the original Bay to Breakers in 1911 marked San Francisco's "comeback" from the 1906 Earthquake), Bay to Breakers is serious about keeping the race fun, safe and sane for everyone. So -- seriously - the following will not be allowed:
1) public drinking
2) public drunkeness
3) bay behavior
4) non registrants running in the race
5) floats of any kind (especially those with hidden bars or kegs).

Let's get real: serious San Franciscans don't need to drink to excess to have fun. So, on Sunday, May 15, we're looking forward to seeing some serious athletes from around the world take part in one of the planet's premiere sporting events. We're also looking forward to seeing a lot of people run, walk, stroll and otherwise enjoy the route -- in outrageous costumes, of course! But, there's no "wink wink" this year about the combined efforts of the Race organizers, City officials and the SFPD. We're serious. Break the rules, and you will be removed from the Race route.

See you in six weeks!
